4 Makeup Shades That Work For Every Skin Tone

After a temporary hiatus (ok, it may have been a little longer that temporary :D) I'm back! Been so busy trying to get to boutique to an "OK" place. Not quite there yet, its still a work in progress, but the fruits of hard labour are evident. A HUGE BIG BIG THANK YOU to everyone who has been supporting Significant Details and a hearty welcome to new customers. 2012 will bring only bigger and better things, I promise. So much in store but let's not stray from the topic at hand.

In all my daily reading I have been coming across so many articles on finding colours that can flatter all shades of brown skin tones; 

1. Purple liner/shadow. Royal purple, mauve, lilac, etc., it works on every skin tone plus it makes brown, hazel, and green eyes pop. Purples to try: NYX Slim Eye Pencil in Purple, for a bigger POP; NYX Slide on Pencils in Pretty Violet or Purple Blaze; NYX Single Eye Shadow #32 Purple; NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Purple Velvet or Purple.

2. Berry lipstick. Because it falls somewhere in the middle of cool and warm undertones, berry is a hue that’s universally flattering. Plus it has a place in your makeup bag no matter the season. Berries to try: NYX Round Lipstick in Black Cherry Haute Coutour or HebeNYX Round Lipgloss in Frosted Plum, Queen of Africa or Wild OrchidNYX Diamond Sparkle Gloss in Fuschia Sparkle

3. Coral blush. We already confirmed that blush is a must for everyone when we went through our beauty resolutions, so start it off right with a coral blush. The vibrant shade helps to brighten the skin and gives a more alert and radiant look. Coral blushes to try: NYX Powder Blush in Cinnamon; NYX Mosaic Blush in Love, NYX Rouge Cream Blush in Orange.

4. Champagne highlighter/eyeshadow. A neutral with a little kick, champagne hues flatter all shades of brown and work in both the office and on the weekend. Products to try: NYX Eyeshadow in AlohaNYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Yougurt, NYX Chrome Eyeshadow in Golden Peach or Barely There.
